What is AWANA?
AWANA is a Wednesday Evening program for youth 3
years old through 5th grade that focuses on learning
God’s Word in a fun atmosphere. Each week, AWANA
provides consistent, positive teaching and training
that stresses strong moral and spiritual values. Our
clubbers learn about the reality of God and the
truth of the Bible.
AWANA Dues
AWANA dues are $50 dollars a year or $25 dollars a
semester. These dues help to cover
the cost of books, awards, & activities throughout
the year. Uniforms are a separate expense & can be
paid when your child earns the uniform.
A Typical Night at AWANA
A night at AWANA is broken down into 3 segments:
- Game Time - Every AWANA meeting kicks off in
high gear with lots of team competition.
Organized games get all of the children to
participate, unleashing natural energy &
enthusiasm.
- Handbook Time - Using achievement-oriented
learning segments, AWANA training emphasizes the
importance of God & His Word for sound living.
Clubbers progress through handbooks at their own
pace & leaders meet with them individually to go
over what they have learned.
- Worship/Council Time – Worship/Council time
involves singing songs that help children learn
more scripture & is followed by awards &
recognition for individual handbook progress &
points scored in team play.
Not Just Wednesday!
These events are scheduled throughout the year & are
fun events for clubbers to invite their friends to,
as well as to get to know others in the club better:
- Sparks-a-Rama
- Bible Quizzing
- Boys & Dad’s Campout
- AWANA Olympics
- Boy's Lock-In/Girl's Lock-In
- Grand Prix
A Note to the Parents
Week by week your children will grow spiritually as
they learn. But how fast? To some extent that is up
to you. Experience shows that encouragement from a
parent will make a big difference in the performance
of your children. Please set aside time each week to
help your children study their handbook.
