Acts 1:8 StrategyActs 1:8 Strategy for Reaching the World
"You shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth." (Acts 1:8) We use Jesus' statement in Acts 1:8 to all Christians to help define the boundaries of our ministry. In this statement, Jesus supplied the mandate to be His witnesses (or share His message and His Truth) in our local community ("Jerusalem"), in our nation ("Judea and Samaria"), and globally ("the remotest part of the earth"). Additionally, we focus on equipping our members to properly reflect the image of Christ so the people we encounter everyday can come to see Christ in us instead of just hearing about Him. On Mission LOCALLY"...you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem..."We intentionally target Alpharetta and surrounding cities in North Georgia to help them encounter the love and message of Jesus Christ. We engage the culture around us through servant evangelism, intentional outreach events and everyday lifestyle displays of Jesus Christ in our lives. Servant evangelism allows us to share the love of Christ with others so they can see His love through us. We simply offer a needed service with no strings attached to help the people in our community. Our outreach events focus on providing family-oriented events where people can fellowship and build relationships that can provide an opportunity for them to see the impact Christ has on our daily lives. We want to be a lighthouse to our community and make an impact for Christ.
On Mission NATIONALLY"...in all Judea and Samaria..."We use short-term mission trips to different places in the United States to reach out to people in need and be Jesus' witnesses in our Judea and Samaria. In 2009, our church served in Charleston, West Virginia, and on the Tohono O'odham Indian Reservation in Sells, Arizona. Our trips focus on serving others and sharing the love and message of Christ, while providing an intentional focus on each participant growing in his or her relationship with Christ. These trips are truly more about making disciples than serving, which leaves a more lasting impact for God for those in the area being reached and the participants who go.
On Mission GLOBALLY"...even to the remotest part of the earth."
We use short-term mission trips as tool to minister to people in need and be Jesus' witnesses to the remotest part of the earth. We have served in Sierra Leone, South Asia, Venezuela, Colombia, Jamaica, and other international locations over the last three years. Additionally, we help support approximately ten thousand missionaries throughout the world through our Cooperative Program giving. The "10-40 Window" is the area of the world with the least evangelization. Through our own efforts and our partnerships, we hope to see many new Christians in this area of the world. |
